Every month has a story and a special meaning. Refer to our guide below to choose the perfect stone for your little ones:

How many characters fit on each charm?
Up to 10 characters per foot, including spaces. Longer names look best shortened to the version you actually call them — "Christopher" becomes "Chris," and honestly it sits better on the pendant that way.

Can each child have a different birthstone?
Yes. Every charm has its own name field and its own birthstone dropdown, so each child gets the stone for their birth month. Choose how many charms you need first, and the fields will appear.

What if two of my children share a birth month?
Just select the same stone for both charms. Twins and siblings with matching stones look lovely — the names still tell them apart.

What chain length does it come with?
Every necklace ships on a 20-inch (50cm) box chain with a lobster clasp. The pendants sit just below the collarbone on most adults. The length is fixed for this design — if you need something shorter or longer, email us before ordering and we'll tell you what we can do.

Can I use names that aren't my children's?
Of course. Grandchildren, a partner's name, parents, pets, a name you've lost. Many of our customers use it for something other than their own kids. It's your piece.

Can you engrave accents or special characters?
Our engraving uses standard English letters (A–Z) and numbers only. Accented letters like é, ñ or ü cannot be engraved — please enter names in their plain English spelling: José as "Jose," Zoë as "Zoe," Sofía as "Sofia." If you're unsure how a name will come out, email support@getengravings.com before ordering and we'll confirm it for you.

How long until it arrives?
Each piece is engraved after you order, so allow 4–5 days for crafting, then 12–20 working days for standard shipping. Express shipping (5–9 working days) is available at checkout if you need it sooner.

Will it tarnish?
Stainless steel holds its finish far better than plated brass, but the tone coating lasts longest when it stays dry. Take it off before showering, swimming and sleeping, keep perfume and lotion off the charms, and wipe it with a soft dry cloth. Treated that way it keeps its shine for years.

What if I made a spelling mistake?
Email support@getengravings.com within 12 hours of ordering and we'll fix it before production starts. Once engraving has begun the name can't be changed — so please do double-check the spelling before you check out.

Is it safe for sensitive skin?
Yes. It's nickel-free and lead-free stainless steel, which is why it's comfortable for daily wear rather than something she has to take off after a few hours.
