1. Choose your finish. Gold Plated, Rose Gold Plated, or Silver Color.
2. Choose how many names. Select 1 to 5 from the dropdown. The name fields appear as you go.
3. Type each name exactly as you want it engraved. Up to 9 characters per teardrop, including spaces. We engrave precisely what you type — capitals, spelling, and spacing are copied character for character.
4. Check your spelling once more. This is the single most common reason an order needs remaking. Read it out loud if you can.
5. Add to cart and check out. Your names carry through to checkout so you can confirm them one last time.
6. We make it, then ship it. Production takes 4–5 business days, because it's engraved for you and no one else.

Need it changed? Email support@getengravings.com within 12 hours of ordering and we'll correct it before engraving begins. After that the piece is already in production.

How many names can I engrave?
Between 1 and 5. Each name goes on its own teardrop charm and can hold up to 9 characters, including spaces.

What happens if a name is longer than 9 characters?
The teardrop physically can't hold it. Most customers use a shortened form or the name they actually call the person. If you're unsure, email us before ordering and we'll tell you how it will look.

Can I add more names later?
Not to this piece — each necklace is engraved as a single unit. If your family is still growing, many customers order the 5-name version and use it as their family grows, or order a second necklace later.

Is it real gold or real silver?
No. The necklace is stainless steel with a silver-color, gold, rose gold plated finish. We're deliberately clear about this: stainless steel is the more practical choice for daily wear, and we'd rather you know exactly what you're buying.

Will the engraving wear off?
The names are laser-cut into the metal rather than printed on top, so they don't rub away with normal wear.

How long is the chain?
The necklace comes with an 18-inch rope chain and is available in Gold, Rose Gold, and Silver Color.

Can she shower or swim in it?
Yes, but for the best long-lasting color and finish, we recommend removing the necklace before swimming or showering for extended periods.

Does it come in a gift box?
Yes. It arrives in a gift box, ready to give.

Can I send it directly to her?
Yes. Enter her address as the shipping address at checkout. No pricing appears on the packing slip.

When will it arrive?
Production takes 4–5 business days. Standard shipping then takes 12–20 working days; Express takes 5–9 working days. Your total delivery time is production plus shipping — please allow for both when ordering for a specific date.

What if the engraving is wrong when it arrives?
If we made the error, we remake it at no cost. Email support@getengravings.com within 30 days of delivery with your order number and a photo.

Can I return a personalized necklace if I change my mind?
Because each necklace is customized and engraved specifically for you, personalized items cannot be returned or refunded once production has started. Cancellations are free within 24 hours of placing your order. After 24 hours, if production has started, cancellations and refunds are not applicable.
